Advantages of PI Advanced Materials

PI Advanced Materials' (PIAM) polyimide (PI) materials have several significant advantages, making them widely used in multiple industries. The following are the main advantages of PI materials:

Main advantages

High temperature resistance: Polyimide can be used in extreme temperatures, ranging from nearly -270°C to over 400°C, making it suitable for applications in high temperature environments.
Electrical insulation: PI materials have excellent electrical insulation properties. The dielectric constant is usually around 3.4 and can remain stable over a wide frequency range.
Mechanical properties: Polyimide exhibits high tensile strength and elastic modulus. The unfilled tensile strength is generally above 100MPa, and some types can reach 530MPa.
Chemical stability: PI materials have good tolerance to a variety of chemical substances, are not easily soluble in organic solvents, are stable to dilute acids, and are suitable for use in harsh environments.
Low thermal expansion coefficient: Its thermal expansion coefficient is similar to that of metals, helping to maintain dimensional stability when temperature changes, which is critical for precision electronic and mechanical components.
Radiation resistance: Polyimide materials have high radiation resistance and are suitable for use in aerospace, nuclear energy and other fields.
Flame retardancy: PI material has the highest flame retardant rating (UL-94), has good self-extinguishing properties, and is suitable for applications requiring fire protection.

These advantages make PI Advanced Materials' polyimide materials play an important role in many industries such as aerospace, electronics, automobiles, and new energy.
